Employment & personnel matters
Our Employment Law practice group has extensive experience advising and defending employers throughout the Pacific Northwest in employment and personnel matters. Our lawyers routinely advise clients on employment law issues and assist clients to minimize their exposure to employment-related claims through the review, formulation, and drafting of employment policies and by providing equal employment opportunity/employment law training seminars.
When employment disputes do arise, our lawyers work closely with clients to investigate and minimize the employer’s exposure to liability. Through these efforts, we have successfully defended numerous charges and claims of discrimination before employment rights enforcement agencies such as the Seattle Office for Civil Rights, the Washington State Human Rights Commission, and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Our employment lawyers also have significant jury trial experience and have successfully defended all types of employment lawsuits in state and federal courts, including claims of age, race, and disability discrimination, wrongful discharge, retaliation, wage and hour violations, gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and hostile work environment.
Our civil litigation experience extends well beyond the trial court level. We have several lawyers with specialized appellate experience from years of service as judicial clerks to judges of the Washington State Court of Appeals. This unique combination of experience not only gives our attorneys exceptional tools to prevail at the appellate level, it also helps us obtain favorable results for clients at trial.
